Radiator Radio | Taking Words for a Stroll

Once a purple alligator

Tuned in to the radiator

(No, you silly creature, no

You listen to the radio!)

And with an unctuous croco-smile

Thought he’d turn the station dial

(No, you silly creature, no

You listen to the radio!)

Then with a snippy snappy snup

He tried to turn the volume up

(No, you silly creature, no

You listen to the radio!)

He opened wide his slobber-gob

And with his teeth turned round the knob

(No, you silly creature, no

You listen to the radi

Nooooo!

Watch it as it spits and spews

The radiator’s oozing ooze!

It’s clawing crawling up my shoes

It’s creeping up the bottom stair

There’s water, water, everywhere!

The alligator doesn’t care

In fact, it looks to me like this

Is perfect alligator bliss

The radiator gives a hiss

And spews a tiny spout of steam

Maybe this was all a scheme?

The alligator’s in a dream

Of oceans and the warm equator

And so the purple alligator

Stretches out his tail straighter

Basking in the balmy sea

And tunes in to the BBC

But what is this? Do let us see

This thing the alligator’s got

He says it makes him toasty hot

But it is just exactly what?

No, you silly creature, no

That thing is just a radio!

For warmth you need a radiator

Silly purple alligator!
