Radiator longevity - NAXJA Forums -::- North American XJ Association

Ok so after Never having any overheating problems running my stock radiator on my 2001 . It sprung a leak where the plastic end tanks are crimped on .

If i could replace it with the same one i probably would but from what ive read it was a modine 2-row that they no longer make.
I feel like the generic replacement will likely be crap.

So in looking into a quality one it seems ALOT of people go with the CSF 3-row. But i was concerened about longevity as there seem to be at least a few reports of them not lasting all that long whether it be due to a leak or them getting to where they dont cool enough due to obstruction of the tubes i guess (from them being smaller in a 3 row)
I also read somewhere that even though theirs is all aluminum the end caps are still crimped on . ( Eventually causing a leak in the same place?)

I Decided on the Champion 3-Row Because its fully welded and seemed like it would be a longer lasting option. But they informed me that they were no longer selling those

American eagle (same company as champion) had a 2-row that i was going to order (it was in stock) that was fully welded and was told by their guys it cooled basically the same amount as the 3 row champion.. Unfortunately i fixed it temporarily and now that im ready to buy it they have also been discontinued.. this kind of sucks because i had already gotten over my obsessing and decided this was the one that was going in .

It really seems like my options are slimming down but id hate to buy something im going to feel failed too early.

Any suggestions on What radiator will Last ? hopefully as long as my stock one did. and cool at least as well (Never ran hot once)

A member already suggested a 3-row all aluminum from 1-800-radiator but theyre website is kind of lame so i could find what brand it would be .

Also while were at it what can be done after i get this done to promote longevity in the new system ?

The stock one lasted A long time and never let me overheat i dont feel like im asking for too much to get the same out of a replacement
