Proper size radiator? - Zukikrawlers

I have one of those civic radiators in mine(86NT).

Plenty of room on either side, no clearance issues but I had a mazda RX-2 radiator in before that, with a standard suzuki fan on the front of a Mazda 12A rotary motor. Until the fan exploded at 7500Rpm and killed the radiator.

The RX radiator kept temp perfectly without a shroud or anything, the civic one needs thermos and all side areas blocked and extra scoops from below the bar and an external oil cooler, and it just does the job. Without the winch in the way.
A 12A is nothing like your motor, but has some serious cooling needs. The radiator designed for the job was perfect.

What I am getting at here is: If you have a proven solution, run with it.
There is no substitute for overkill. Cooling is one of those things that can cost you big dollars and totally stop your trip and fun. Does anyone with a mustang radiator have cooling issues, If not there is your solution.

I am kicking myself for cheaping out on the alloy radiator, It is just too much drama watching the guages and stressing about it constantly.

Which mustang radiator by the way?
