I have a 64 Chevy Impala SS and it has a radiator leak. I was thinking about replacing it with an aluminum radiator and noticed if was not to expensive to put a set of fans with it. Is there an advantage of putting an aluminum radiator and fans?(It would eliminate the fan old Blade) Thanks for any input Jerry

Going to need a bigger alternator for the added equipment.
Those fans can draw some mighty amperage.

I think I HAVE A 60 AMP ALTERNATOR and I was thinking about going to 100 amp alternastor. Do you think it is better to have an aluminum radiator with fan? Thanks Jerry

I don't think better but there are some advantages with aluminum, better cooling, lighter weight, looks cool. the fans have their own set of problems, relays, more current draw, larger alternator. It gets down to personal preferences if you can afford it I'd go for it...Dennis

Sorry blown55, copper radiators are more efficient then aluminum and are easier to repair. Check it out. The cheap Chinese aluminum radiator have tubes secured with epoxy rather then welds. If it leaks they are throw away's. If weight is an issue go aluminum.
