Fixed a leaking radiator hose, now the car idles around 2K RPMS

Seems like there might be a few things going on but here is the situation:
  • My upper radiator hose started leaking, which resulted in very low levels of coolant
  • The car sat for 5 days until I had time to fix the leak
  • Pressure tested the radiator to verify the leaking hose
  • Flushed the radiator and added new coolant
  • On the first start up the engine idled at 2K RPMs all the way up to running temp
  • The radiator bubbled and spilled out some fluid but eventually settled down
  • The idle never dropped
  • I filled up the reservoir and topped off the radiator
  • After two more starts the idle returned to normal and I drove around the block
  • This morning I started the car back up and the idle was back at 2K RPMs and the reservoir was almost empty and the there was no visible fluid under the radiator cap.
  • I see no visible coolant leaks, I have not let the car running until warm again.

Any thoughts as to what is going on here?

Thanks,
Sean
