Exhaust and radiator hose

How bad is the hose burning through? Never had this problem, and my CT midrange pipe rests right up against the hose that goes from the pump to the top of the cylinder. Sure, the hose gets a little discolored, but have never had a hose burn through.

I have never even worried about it, always figured coolant is flowing through that hose at 200 degrees or so, would think the pipe isn't that much hotter that far down the line from the exhaust flange. I currently have my motor apart, guess I will inspect that hose a little more carefully, have been using that same hose since 2006.

Since you are having this issue, I would do what rk88r suggested, use a extra piece of rubber hose and wrap it around the coolant hose. Two layers should prevent burn through.
