Many exchanges encountered within the supply chain of radiators will be between different companies seeking to maximize revenue within a particular sphere of interest. They may have little or absent knowledge or interest in the remaining players in the supply chain. The evolution of extended enterprises have allowed separate organizations to create a network of firms that combine economic output to provide the end product – radiators – to the market. Companies participating in the extended enterprise may operate independently or cooperatively through agreements and contracts.

Radiators and towel rails have emerged to become essential additions to modern homes especially those with colder winter seasons. The advancement in design and aesthetics have encouraged numerous companies to develop specializations in the radiator industry making subdivisions of expertise in traditional and contemporary designer radiators, towel rails, and towel warmers.

A vast number of trade radiator participants as radiator wholesalers provide input to manufacturing companies. Suppliers of these raw materials may be one independent organization which provides all the raw materials to the manufacturing company. However, it is more common for manufacturers to purchase the supplies of raw materials from different organizations that specialize in a particular field of expertise. Examples of raw materials for trade radiators are chemical raw materials, rubbers, steel wire ropes, wires, non-ferrous metals, glass fiber reinforced plastic products and clothing apparel, textiles, handicrafts and so on.

Commonly, vast networks of traders work hand in hand to establish positions as radiator wholesalers. Where an individual company cannot handle all geographical areas of the market as well as direct availability of raw materials, importation and exportation of goods are required. With the evolution of product mobilization, the movements of final and intermediary products are made easier with the assistance of other companies.

Retailers are popular radiator wholesalers. They purchase radiators in large quantities from manufacturers or importers, either directly or through another wholesaler, and sell them in smaller quantities to the end-user or homeowner. These retail establishments are often called shops, stores, warehouses, or depots. Retailers are at the end of the supply chain. Radiator manufacturing marketers see the process of retailing as a vital part in the overall distribution strategy.

Wholesale traders or merchants, as opposed to retailers, operates in the chain between producer and retail merchant. Some wholesale radiator traders only organize the movement of goods rather than moving the goods themselves.

Companies that carry on industrial enterprises participating in the heating industry are also radiator wholesalers. They may not necessarily be manufacturers of radiators but they have ready access to markets that purchase radiators in bulk. They may be importers, exporters, or general providers.
