All about cars: Nissan Sentra radiator drain plug problems

Recently I was forced to replace my original radiator drain plug of my Sentra . The reasons for it because it was already loose tread and cannot be removed because I used the wrong tool for removing it. I cannot already drain it because it was already stock in there I cannot loosen it. The last option was to remove it by force which means by destroying it already. It was just a small rubber drain plug and looking for replacement for it is a bit pain in the ass because I don’t have any idea about the size of it and I cannot remove it.

So I just went to a nearby radiator repair shop so they can take a look on it then I manage to find replacement for the radiator drain plug in a nearby Nissan parts store but they gave me a plastic looking kind of replacement with rubber washers.

So I don’t think this will be good for long trips because it was not a pure rubber. I haven’t tested it yet for long trips but I hope it last. Maintaining water inside your radiator is really vital. Engine is the life of your car so better take care of it. When I drained it I managed to remove lots of rust then replace it will new coolant. Luckily there are no leaks under so I think the cheap looking drain plug replacement was a bit of success.
