Radiator over flow bottle causes front end noise - Focus Fanatics

This is the type of thing that I think we are hearing. The techs at the dealer are not morons even though when they can't find the problem we might think that. I have gone through and checked the suspension pieces and they are all tight and strong. I did find many rattles under he hood though, like the hood support rod, which rattles like crazy. Insulating it did nt fix it though. So it's something similar. On mine the water bottle makes zero noise.

My hood rattled a bit too, and I'm still thinking that might be it. I insulated all of the plastic liners under the body etc. Those all made noise too, but they were not the main thing I'm hearing.

Mine definitely is the worst when the engine compartment is cold. Once it has been driving for about 15 minutes, the noise goes almost totally away

Which PVC hose you talking about? They make many different kinds.

If your talking about the PVC Reinforced Braided Vinyl Tubing, it's only rated for 125 degrees.

The SPA hose is only rated for 150 degrees.

All the other PVC hose they have is I believe rated lower then them two.

I don't think it would be safe to use.JMO

Looking for 1966 442 radiator - ClassicOldsmobile.com

The radiator you got should have been a #322, Napa shows a copper radiator part #CU351. It is showing to be a special order only. You may be able to use that part number to have other parts houses cross it to their number. If you have an original radiator, you might be better off having a radiator shop put a new core in it. There are many other GM cars that used that same radiator. Cutlass 66-71, Chevelle 68-71, and Skylark 67-71. There may be others also. You might find a used radiator if you don't have one and have it recored.

Kustom Cooling touts all-aluminum Freightliner Cascadia Radiator ...

Kustom Cooling’s all-aluminum Freightliner Cascadia Radiator uses the company’s proprietary “Wavy Fin” design set in a bar-and-plate configuration for added performance, durability and reliability. The design helps prevent clogging of the cores due to road debris since there are no catch points; the fin is smooth from front to back and less susceptible to bending or lying over, and since there is more contact area of the fin to the plate, the overall strength of the core is increased as well as providing a more uniform control of thermal expansion as the coolant temperature heats up.

Welding the aluminum tanks and core together facilitates a burst pressure of 100 psi, while a tube wall thickness of 0.06 inch adds more material to help reduce tube failure due to vibration and road debris. The aluminum transmission oil cooler and aluminum top and bottom tanks allow brazed aluminum threaded inserts to be welded directly into the tank. For the side channel, a flat bar is tied into the upper and lower tanks along the continuous weld around the core-to-tank connection. A piece of ¼-inch-thick neoprene is secured inside the radiator channels to help reduce road vibration.
